What is Makerspace and who is it for?

A Makerspace is a place where people can gather together to create and work on projects while sharing ideas and materials. The Tyler Public Library caters its Makerpace to the areas of S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, Mathematics).  We have microscopes, 3-D drawing pens, art supplies, a flight simulator and more!

The Makerspace is for kids, teens, and families who want to learn, play and grow together.  A library card is NOT needed to participate and classes are FREE!

For more information, please contact our Circulation Supervisor, Ashley Taylor, at  You can also check out or print copies of our brochure.

Friends of the Library

All Makerspace materials are funded by the Friends of the Tyler Public Library. Become a friend of the library today and assist, promote and support Library programs and initiatives! Learn more at
