The Local History room closes 15 minutes before the Library closes.

All regular membership meetings are held at 2 p.m. on the 2nd Saturday of the month at the Tyler Public Library in Taylor Auditorium. The computer interest group, when scheduled, meets after the regular meeting.

Smith County Historical Society

The Smith County Historical Society was founded in 1959 by individuals and local businesses dedicated to discovering, collecting and preserving data, records and other items relating to the history of Smith County, Texas. They operate a museum across the street from the library at the corner of Elm and College St.
